Interconnection Request
If you are considering installing renewable generation, please follow our three-step process:
Step 1: Application
We review your system plans upfront to confirm technical compliance, protect the grid, and set the foundation for a safe project.
Required Actions:
☐ Complete the Interconnection Request Application. Submit system design drawings, equipment specifications, and any required certifications.
☐ Pay the Interconnection Application Fee ($350).
BVU Engineering will review your system design to ensure it meets all BVU Authority standards.
Step 2: Agreement
We establish a formal agreement between you and BVU Authority, confirming project details, responsibilities, and system limits before construction begins.
Required Actions:
☐ BVU will email you a copy of the Interconnection Agreement after design approval. Please review and sign the Agreement.
☐ Pay the Interconnection Agreement Fee ($125 per kW of system size).
Once the Agreement is fully executed, you may begin construction.
Step 3: Review
We perform a final inspection to ensure the installed system matches approved plans and can safely operate on the BVU grid.
Required Actions:
☐ After you have finished construction, complete the Interconnection Engineering Review Form to request your final system inspection.
☐ Pay the Interconnection Engineering Fee ($300).
BVU Engineering will visit the site to verify compliance. Upon approval, BVU may install a new meter and authorize system operation.
Important Reminders:
- All three steps must be completed before a solar system can be tied into the BVU grid.
- Payment of fees and submission of documents at each step are required to move forward.
- Zero-export systems must still complete the full interconnection process.
- BVU is responsible only for ensuring safe and reliable grid connection — third-party incentives or financial benefits must be handled separately.
