Landlord Program
The BVU Authority Landlord Program offers a convenient billing option designed for landlords, property management companies, apartment complexes, and rental agencies ("Landlord"). This program streamlines the process of managing utility services at residential rental properties. Once enrolled, utility services at your properties will automatically revert to your account when a tenant closes their utility account—eliminating the need for repeated Applications/Contracts for Service.

Program Advantages
- Faster Service Transfers: Utility services seamlessly transfer between tenants and landlords, avoiding delays.
- No Additional Costs: Participation in the program is free of charge.
- Streamlined Processes: Simplifies service management for property showings, cleanings, or repairs between tenants.
How It Works
- Enrollment:
- Landlords complete and submit the Landlord Utilities Authorization Form online, listing all rental properties under each business entity.
- Ownership documentation may be required for property enrollment.
- Tenant Account Closure:
- When a tenant voluntarily closes their BVU Authority utility account at an enrolled property, BVU Authority performs a meter reading for the tenant’s final bill.
- The Landlord notifies BVU Authority of their intent to maintain service at the property.
- Landlord Account Activation:
- BVU Authority activates the Landlord’s account, making the Landlord responsible for all services and charges until a new tenant establishes their account.
- Landlords can also voluntarily close their accounts anytime by contacting BVU Authority Customer Support.
- New Tenant Account Setup:
- When a new tenant contacts BVU Authority to open an account, a meter reading is performed for the Landlord’s final bill.
- Service is transferred to the tenant’s account with no service disruption.
Note: Landlords must maintain a good or excellent payment history on all accounts with BVU Authority to continue program participation.
Important Guidelines
- Notification of Tenant Changes:
- Landlords must promptly inform BVU Authority of any tenant changes to ensure accurate billing and service management.
- Sale of Property:
- Landlords must contact Customer Support before selling any property enrolled in the program.
- Failure to notify BVU Authority will result in continued charges to the Landlord's account until proper notification is received, regardless of property ownership changes.
Quick Setup Process
Most Landlord Utilities Authorizations are processed within 2–3 business days after submission of the required forms. For authorizations involving multiple properties or when additional information is needed, processing may take up to 10 business days.
